Honey is one of the most loved and delicious sweeteners in the world. Used all over the world with a lot of medical value along with its unmatched taste. Some of the best honey in the world is harvested in Nepal.
This is a story by Andrew Newey, a photographer who went into Nepal, in search of the Gurung tribe. The tribe is known for its amazing tradition of honey hunting. Located in the central parts of Nepal, these people practice their ancient tradition up to date and it is a sight to watch. Newey joined a group of honey hunters to experience their honey harvesting first hand and document the entire operation for the whole world to see. Scroll down to check out one of the most awesome honey harvesting photos below.

Taking a huge risk, these tribesmen perch themselves up on high ladders or ropes on the edges of high Himalayan mountain edges. With their skill and experience, they use sticks and poles to harvest the honeycombs from the hives. These people rely on their experience, putting themselves in danger. But they are very confident of this traditional practice.
These harvested combs are preferred to create medical and cosmetics. But, these Himalayan honey hunters are dwindling in numbers since the younger generations seek other jobs. But if you really want to get this experience, they take tourists on tours to spectate the honey-hunters at work as well.
Check out these amazing photos by Newey and let us know what you think about them.
