In her journey of rescuing and taking part in volunteer work in dog shelters for nine years roughly, Sophie Gamand has done a spectacular job. She also helps in capturing lovable moments of commonly misunderstood dogs and also in finding these dogs a home.
On her trip to ‘Calhoun County Humane Society’ in Anniston, Alabama in 2016, she had to photograph 54 wonderful dogs. Among these 54 dogs, Grey was the only one who hadn’t been adopted for a few years.
Once again, when another group of volunteer photographers arrived to do a photoshoot, Grey was posing for Emily Covington who is from ‘Wags to Riches Photography’.
Since Grey is not a noob in the shoots of this shelter, the older and the newer photos were available for comparison. But sadly, it is visible that the fur on Grey’s face and its expressions indicates that; it has been a long time. Grey is growing old, still at the shelter.

With minimum ‘Life Experiences’ at the shelter. Grey has also parted his way with his brother who was eventually adopted and now lives being loved in a permanent home.
Grey grew up as a yard dog with his brother and mother. But due to his elongating stay at the shelter, Grey has been able to pick up a few things in being a ‘good boy’. He is admirable with people and loves to play.
An issue that Grey has is that he cannot make friends with other dogs. He could handle walking past other dogs, but not to have one on one interaction. This drops the opportunities in getting Grey adapted. On top of that, the shelter in Alabama is not situated in a densely populated area which limits the visits of possible adopters. Over the years, new dogs have been rescued and taken for adoption, while Grey keeps getting pushed behind in the line.
