The Mars 2020 project was launched into space on July 31, 2020.The ATLAS V541 rocket was flown at Cape Canaveral Air Force Base in Florida and is scheduled to land on Tuesday, February 18, 2021.This MARS 2020 rover has two parts.Namely the Perseverance Rover and the INGENUITY HELICOPTER.The main objective of the 2020 project is to examine whether there was life on the surface of Mars in the past.

The Perseverance rover is a robot with previously unused technology.It includes a camera system with panoramic and stereotypical capabilities that maximize its zoom capability, as well as a section where soil samples can be collected and tested.The mission is expected to run for two years.This was followed by the launch of the ATLAS V 541 rocket into space, which severed the relationship between the spacecraft and NASA after the center upper stage partition.The reason was that the aircraft had automatically entered a safe mood.But after about 2 hours, the scientists were able to regain contact.

The rover is scheduled to land on Mars’ Jesero crater on February 18, 2021.Scientists believe that a river flowed through this crater in the past.It’s already delta-like location is thought to have been caused by that river.The crater is about 5km wide.For these reasons, the Jesero crater is a great place to confirm whether or not there was life on Mars.

Landing a rover on Mars is a very difficult task.The aircraft also uses a heat shield, parachute, and sky crane for landing.The technology was also used to land the Curiosity rover previously sent to Mars.This spacecraft will have to go through many steps to land on the red planet.Scientists call this the seven minutes of terror because it takes about seven minutes to complete all these steps.

This perseverance rover is very similar to the previous rover sent to Mars.But there are some special changes in this robot.This is a large. perseverance rover, the largest rover launched to Mars.The size here is 10 feet. It’s about a metric ton the rover has  very advanced technology.The rover uses a technique previously known as terrain relative navigation.That is, taking photos of Mars and comparing them to choosing the right place to land.The aircraft is also equipped with a technology called range triggerIt determines the exact time the parachute should be unfurled.This allows the atlas v 541 rocket to land at the right place and at the right time.

The rover has a robotic arm, which pierces Mars’ ground and takes soil samples.This allows the soil samples to be stored in the machine and tested to some extent.NASA hopes to send another rover to Mars in 2026 to retrieve the soil samples back to Earth.This rover has an ultraviolet spectrometer device called a sherlock on the boom arm.If the instrument sees a sign of life, it will be able to study and find out if it originated on Mars or if it originated in extraterrestrial space and crashed into Mars.The PIXEL  instrument here has the ability to check the composition of the red planet’s soil material.The votsun device also tests the quality of other parts of the rover. 

Scientists have attached a special camera to the robot called the supper cam.It is equipped with a laser device that washes away rocks.The supper cam examines the rock vapors and examines their composition.When a rock evaporates in this way, a sound is emitted. A microphone is mounted on it to detect the sound energy.All of the microphones previously mounted on spacecraft sent to the Red Planet were in a state of disrepair.But scientists have been able to fix all the flaws in them and install a state-of-the-art microphone in the perseverance rover.

The mastcam-z camera mounted on the upper part of the robot allows the rover to be closely monitored by two navcam cameras.The MEDA device here acts as a weather station, which can measure factors such as wind speed, wind direction, and humidity.The MEDA device is still very important in gaining a clearer understanding of their shape and way of life when creating settlements on Mars in the future.The rover is equipped with a ground subsurface radar device called RIMFAX .This is the first time such a device has been used in orbit around Mars, but the first time Mars has been used on the surface.The moxie device is also a very important component .The device has the ability to convert carbon dioxide, which is abundant in the atmosphere of Mars, into oxygen gas.There is no doubt that this process will be a very important milestone in the settlement of Mars.

In addition to all of this, the rover contains part 4 of the material, part of the helmet of the space suit that is expected to be used on Mars in the future.Scientists hope to study how these clothes cope in the Martian atmosphere.

Rovers previously sent to Mars were powered by solar panels.But the atmosphere of Mars is a very dusty atmosphere.Therefore, there is a high probability that these solar panels will be destroyed.Due to that, the perseverance rover is powered by an MMRTG device.The DEEP SPACE SYSTEM on this rover communicates information to Earth.The system is made up of a collection of manned spacecraft spread across space.Scientists will be able to explore data from the rover to determine whether or not there was life on Mars .We hope to be able to determine what to do and what not to do in the future on Mars.
