You might have heard Noah boarding animals of all species on his ark, but this is a story of a real life hero who sheltered around 300 animals over to his house to shelter them from the vicious Hurricane ‘Delta’.
Mr.Ricardo Pimentel works at an animal shelter called ‘Tierra de Animales’, situated in Cancun, Mexico. When the high risk alerts were announced prior to the Hurricane, Ricardo already knew that the shelters at the sanctuary were not strong enough to withstand rough weather and he had to do something to take care of these animals. So, he took the protection of the animals upon himself and took all the animals from the shelter into his own house so they would have protection until the hurricane passed.
Hurricane ‘Delta’ was one of the worst hurricanes that Mexico and the US have been hit with. So Ricardo prepped himself with organizing his home and also packing up the necessary animal food.

All the animals were vaccinated, fed and were looking forward to being adopted. Surprisingly, all of them behaved really well on the night of the hurricane.
The doggos were running all over the place!

Ricardo Pimentel shared the fact that it has been 9 years since he discovered the ‘Tierra de Animales’, but he has been helping and rescuing kids since he was a little boy. The sanctuary offers rescuing and shelter for many animals such as; dogs, cats, sheep, iguanas, cows, horses, pigs, goats, donkeys, etc.

After the photos and video of Ricardo going viral, more people are actually interested in helping stranded animals and in donating to animal sanctuaries to provide enough protection for animals who are sheltered there.

Donate and show love to animal shelters in any way you can since they also face the same threats as everyone does.
