To Bored Panda, Neely had shared the story of how he was able to capture these amazing photographs. Both Joe and Niccole had been on their way back and off the highway. They had seen a beautiful patch of pink flowers and had stopped by to click some photos. And Niccole had been the first to see the bees. While she was taking photographs of the orange Globe Mallow plant that had been inside the patch of pink flowers she had heard the buzzing sound of the bees. And had seen that in some flowers there were bees and they weren’t moving.

After that Neely had gone to see and some more bees had come over to the plants and had gone to the flowers. And there had been one bee that was left out and even it had moved into a flower where there had been another bee. As Neely had said he had watched it settling inside the flower. And he had said that he didn’t know that they sleep but these bees that are known as Diadasia diminuta sleep in these orange-colored Gloe Mallow flowers. And as per the Forest Service in the US Department of Agriculture, the nests of these bees can be found in partially compacted soil along the margin of dirt roads in the western United States.

On the website of the organization, it is said that these bees cover with pollens and then go to flowers and that most of the pollens that are stuck in the legs are taken back to their nests. And also had said that some of the pollens that are on their body stick on the stigma of the next Globe Mallow flower that they go to and therefore the reproduction of the flowers happen.

It is said by bee researcher Brandon Hopkins from Washington State University that the bees have no eyelids. You won’t find any sleeping with closed eyes. Also by close observations scientists have found that honey bees stop moving their antenna. At times they even fall sideways. Anyways Neely had captured a superb shot from his camera and it might have been the best shot he took for that day. When it comes to Neely while taking pictures he likes to a good distance so that the subject wouldn’t be disturbed. And also he likes to shoot with an aperture of around f16 to f20.
