The threat of COVID 19 is stretched out not only for Humans but also for animals as well. Shango the Gorilla didn’t get any exceptions as well. 

Aged 31, this Gorilla had a rough confrontation with Barney; his brother. This is a common phenomenon between Lowland Male Gorillas. But Shango after being attacked on the shoulder was very protective of it and showed signs of illness which made the staff to do a checkup on him.

Weighing Shango

Shango was recorded at 433lb at weighing. Since he showed symptoms of fever, he was taken in for a COVID 19 test as well, which turned out to be negative. The medical staff then focused on the attacked shoulder which caused Shango to be immobilized. Many tests such as; X-rays, Ultrasound, tuberculosis and dental hygiene tests were done as well.

Barney; who confronted Shango

Shango has recovered from anesthesia and also found with no bad damages to himself. He is being treated and being watched over while he is being healed. However it is not sure if the authorities would send Shango back with Barney. 

Shango will be closely monitored until he gets up to speed
