In today’s world, harassing people for being different has become more common. We all have to understand the fact that not everyone is equally alike. And that doesn’t mean that they have no right to have a peaceful life.
You might have heard a number of racist stories of black people getting harassed by white people. Just imagine how it would feel when you live in a neighborhood where you get harassed just ‘cause you are black. That’s what exactly happened with this single mom. Jennifer McLeggan lives in Long Island along with her little girl. She is a single mom and is a registered nurse. But sadly her life had got tough when people in her neighborhood who are white had harassed her. And Jeniffer had even put up a note on her door saying how her neighbors harass her.

While all the harassment was happening she has been able to collect evidence against her neighbors and had won a judgment. It is shown that her neighbors walk around with guns trying to intimidate her. And she had even said that the neighbors had been throwing feces on her property. Also, these rude neighbors had been planting dead animals like squirrels in her yard.

After the incident was out she had been receiving support from the local community. People had been keeping an eye on her and had been protecting her house. Also, she had received support from the police. The police had given protection and they had even conducted an investigation. And apart from all these, there had been a protest in support of Jennifer.

Jennifer had shared a lot with ABC7NY about the situation she had gone through. She had said that the reason to put on a note on the door was for others to know. She had said that just in case something happens with her they would know that she’s in there with a baby. But anyhow her prayers had been answered and she was given the needed protection.
