Blending the elderly souls and nature’s own beauty is quite lovely and humorous at the same time. The project “Eyes as Big as Plates” is a series done by Riitta Ikonen and Karoline Hjorth two Finnish and Norwegian photographers respectively. And Ikonen had said that it’s a play on characters and protagonists from Norwegian folklore. And that it has become a collection of photos in “mental landscapes”.

For this project, their subjects were elderly people as per folklore. The elders are placed in different natural locations and dressed in organic materials to match with each other. The outfits match with the environment and therefore they are standing out. This gives the photos that these photographers took, more of an Earth-bound look to them. Another interesting fact about this is that they have taken elderly people over the number of younger people, therefore, an aged beauty is added to the brilliant work. In order to fund a book that features senior people, Eyes as Big as Plates is doing a Kickstarter campaign. Scroll down to check out the rest of the pictures that we have collected for you.
